Since my last post which was a review of the matrix biolage proof avocado deep smoothening serum, many of you requested I do a post on DIY hair masks. So I listened and put together a few of my favourites. Feel free to switch up the quanity based on the length of your hair.
BANANA – Bananas are rich in potassium, natural oils, carbohydrates and vitamins, which help soften the hair. It makes your hair more healthy and shiny.
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Full fat milk
Smash the banana to a smooth paste. Avoid leaving lumps as those will tend to stick in your hair. Add the honey, coconut oil and milk and mix all the ingredients well. Apply from root to tip and leave it for 30 mins. Follow up with a shampoo and conditioner of your choice.
EGG- Eggs are always well loved as it is a source of rich protein. Adding an egg to your mask helps to strengthen your hair. Eggs have Lecithin in them which helps keep the unwanted frizz at bay by added back the much needed moisture to your hair.
1 1/2 Tbsp Honey
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Crack open the egg. Add the olive oil and honey and whisk it all together. Apply it on your hair and leave it there for 30 mins. Follow up with a shampoo and conditioner of your choice.
Apple Cider Vinegar – The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar will remove residue from product buildup and help you get shiny, lustrous locks. It helps reseal the hair cuticles, making it easy to comb and less prone to breakage.
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Almond Oil
Mix all the ingredients well. Apply from root to tip and leave on for 30 mins. Wash of with a mild shampoo. Do not apply more than twice a month, as excessive use can cause more harm than good.
I hope you guys give these hair masks a try. Regular application will give you the desired result. Till my next post “STAY BEAUTIFUL” xoxo
